Police kill armed robber in Aba...vanguard

Aba—Policemen from the Aba Police Area Command, Abia State have shot dead an armed robber while on stop and search duty at Bata junction along Factory road area of the city.
Vanguard  gathered that one of the gang members died on the spot following injuries he sustained from gunshot from the Police as he made to escape.
According to sources, the police were on a stop and search operation at Bata junction on early morning hours,  Saturday, when they suspected the car of the hoodlums and insisted on searching it.
The hoodlums, who pretended as if they were going to comply, attacked the police as they fired sporadic shots into the air while escaping.
Vanguard learnt  that a member of the gang has been arrested through a tip off and is now helping the police in their investigation,
