Island Records is a major American record label that operates as a division of Universal Music Group and is home to various top UK, US and Australian stars the likes of Nicki Minaj, Taio Cruz, Enrique Iglesias, Calvin Harris, Leona Lewis, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Bon Jovi, Avicii, Fall Out Boy, Calvin Harris, U2, amongst others.
The star who debuted in the Nigerian music scene in 2011 shared the news on her Instagram page with the caption: “FINALLY!! this is what most of us work so hard for. We spend most of our lives chasing this 1 opportunity to reach the world through a giant platform like this! Seyi reportedly signed the contract in London at the Universal offices in South Kensington, yesterday, the 23rd of June.
